INOWASIA training about BOD analyzer and 3M Petrifilm Plate Reader Advanced for water and wastewater testing

On Monday 06^th November 2023, #NUOL organized an #INOWASIA training on wàter and wastewater testing through the application of BOD Analyzer and 3M Petrifilm Plate Reader Advanced which have been financed by #Erasmus+ programme. This kind of equipment is the first available not only at NUOL but also in Laos.

The event was taken place at the Center of Excellence in Environment (CoEE) of NUOL. Joining the training, the trainees were the master students and technical staff from the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Natural Sciences.

In this training, the trainees were given the introduction to the basic measurement principles, how equipment work and practice on how to perform the real analysis starting from sample preparation, instrument setup and reading results.

The trainees were very enjoyed in the practical use of the equipment which is the new techniques and technologies compared to the wet chemical analysis technique which is used in their labs.

The training was the initiative of the Water-Oriented Living Lab (#WOLL) of NUOL as the Domestic Wastewater Quality Education for educating young researchers on domestic wastewater quality testing profession in laboratory. This kind of training will be continuously provided for students and young researchers generation by generation not only for Laotian but also for young researchers from Asian partners.

NUOL would like to express its thankfulness to Erasmus+ programme through INOWASIA project for funding to our need on the laboratory equipment and other activities in Lao PDR.
