JICA visit at Battambang University

On 24 April 2023, H.E. SOK Khorn, Rector of the National University of Battambang (NUBB) met the delegation from JICA led by Prof. Dr. Takada, Vice President of Tokyo Institute of Technology (TIT) Japan and chief advisor of JICA, under framework of LBE-JICA project.

The meeting aims to review the progress of project implementation and understand the research ecosystem at NUBB. Dr. Ratha Chea, dean of graduate school and #INOWASIA project manager at NUBB, presented the research activities in the Graduate School of NUBB and introduced the Water oriented Living Lab (#WoLL)- Laboratory of Freshwater Ecology (ECOFRESH) supported by Erasmus+ INOWASIA project; particularly, the integration of laboratory based education (LBE) concept in the ECOFRESH research team.

Dr. Chea accompanied the JICA delegation to visit NUBB labs including WoLL-ECOFRESH Lab. Meanwhile, Dr. Chea underlined the key contribution of all Erasmus+ CHBE projects to JICA delegation, including INOWASIA project, in Cambodian higher education improvement.

The collaborative framework of Erasmus+ project contribute to improve not only the content of teaching, but also the transformation of traditional teaching method to modern competence based teaching, e.g. the integration of Problem Based Learning (#PBL), and facilities to improve the quality of teaching-learning and R&D services. More importantly, the university-industry collaboration is one of core elements in the Erasmus+ CBHE projects to ensure the sustainability of the education programs after the end of projects.
