Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC)

INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY OF CAMBODIA (ITC)

Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC) is a Cambodian Higher Education Institution which was founded in 1964 and supported by cooperation between the Cambodia and the former Soviet Union. ITC’s goal is to provide students with a high-quality education in the fields of engineering sciences and technologies. Students are provided with technical know-how and skills of analysis which allow integration and evolution in the labor market. To achieve this, the academic and international scientific research requires development.

TEAM

Kong CHHUON

Dean of Faculty of Hydrology and Water Resources Engineering, ITC, Dr. CHHUON Kong graduated PhD in Environmental Engineering from University of the Philippines-Diliman and Tokyo Institute of Technology-Japan in 2016. He did assessment on the carrying capacity of available water resources to meet the demands for people, agriculture, energy development and environmental protection within the watershed approach in Cambodia. He got Master’s degree in Environmental Geology from Gadjah Mada University in Indonesia. His research interest is environmental hydrology. Aside from his interests on open water environment, he is also joining research project on climate change, watershed hydrology and water resources engineering. Dr. Kong is an alumni of ASEAN Science and Technology Fellowship program which he was working on climate change issue.

Vannak ANN

Vannak ANN is an eco-hydrologist and Remote Sensing/GIS user holding a PhD in Water Science and Technology (2015, UdG – Spain), a Master of Science in Agronomy and Bioengineering [2007, GxABT of ULiège (ex-FUSAGx) – Belgium] and an Engineer’s Degree in Rural Engineering (2006, ITC – Cambodia). At present, the main focus of his research is the application of (bio)statistics and machine learning (ML) techniques to ascertain the influence of environmental factors (such as hydrological, physical, chemical and biological) and their variability on micro-and macro-organisms, as well as on the ecological functioning and biodiversity of the Lower Mekong Basin. He is also interested in modeling hydrological processes (at a watershed scale) and climate change-related topics. He has been involved (as PI/co-PI or member) in several projects that relate to the integration of social, ecological and hydrological research.

Sreyang SORN

SORN Sreyang is currently hold the position of Secretary of Faculty of Hydrology and Water Resources Engineering at the Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC). Additionally, he is a sophomore, majoring in a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies at Royal University of Phnom Penh. Global affairs and collective issues are its interests. Up until now, he has worked with UN Women in Cambodia on global concerns like climate change, and has been working hard as an administrative assistant on other projects under ITC.
