INOWASIA internship student from ITC at CTU on “Low Impact Development (LID) Concept Storm Water Management in Kompot city, Cambodia”

My name is NENG Layheng. I’m a master student at ITC.

I have an #INOWASIA internship at CTU period 3 months under project #ERASMUS+ #INOWASIA. I arrived Can Tho University (CTU) on 22 April 2023 and stay in international dormitory at CTU.

The specific subject for doing research is : “Low Impact Development (LID) Concept Storm Water Management in Kompot city, Cambodia” to study about the develop a 1D 2D hydrodynamic model that connected SWMM, assess the efficacy of #LID (Low Impact Development) procedures under various scenarios and significant risk levels, and inspect the effectiveness of #LID scenarios and evaluate the efficiency of #LID scenario on rainfall runoff reduction and peak flow reduction.

During the internship, I will select the study area in Can Tho city for doing the research related to Low Impact Development concept Storm Water Management in Water Oriented Living Lab (#WOLL). I attended seminar on April 28, Can Tho University organize the 6th Workshop on Environmental Sciences, Natural Resources and Climate Change, the event took place at the Academic Center. At the seminar, I listened to scientific reports on topics related to environment and climate change, while expressing the school’s commitment to mitigating the harms of change climate with environment, towards regional and regional sustainable development goals. After my internship was over, I expected to provide a suitable drainage system in the study area for future projections and understand the effectiveness of #LID practices to reduce surface runoff and peak flow.
