National University of Laos (NUoL) is a member of INOWASIA project for co-establishing the development of innovative multilevel formation programs for the new water leading professionals in Southeast Asia co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union. In this project, NUoL proposed to establish a water oriented living laboratory (WoLL) at the Center of Excellence in Environment (CoEE) by focusing on Domestic Wastewater Quality Education (Inowasia, 2021). A living lab is a place for the development of innovative products and services by placing the users at the heart if the innovation process (Ballon, 2015). To support the activity of the living lab in educating NUoL young researchers and collaborative stakeholder technical staff on domestic wastewater quality testing professional, INOWASIA has financed three laboratory equipment including: (1) biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) meter for BOD testing, (2) portable multiparameter water quality meter for pH, Temperature, dissolved oxygen (DO), electrical conductivity (EC), ammonium, nitrate and chloride, and (3) plate count reader advanced for enumerate different plats in microorganism testing – like coliform, E. coli, etc. The equipment has arrived early this year and the tender has just provided initial training of using the equipment.
