ACTION4WATER, a new Erasmus+ project related to water training

It is with great satisfaction that we announce the recent award of ACTION4WATER, a new project in the Erasmus+ programme (KA220-HED - Cooperation partnerships in higher education action type), based on the progress made by the #INOWASIA consortium. The project, led by NHL Stenden (University of Applied Sciences, Netherland), will last 30 months and has the participation of the University of Girona along with 5 more partners from Netherland, Slovenia and Greece.

The title of the project is “Tackling water scarcity by using advanced technologies in business-academia-society cooperation”, with a general objective to promote social innovation and entrepreneurship in water management through advanced technologies in harvesting and desalination practices. The two specific objectives are:

• Developing educational resources and activities to raise awareness and address water scarcity through business-academia synergies.
• Integrating citizen science in HE courses regarding water scarcity as a means of civic engagement and advocacy

Although the target audience of this project is not Southeast Asia, and the field of water expertise is narrower, the experience of implementing innovative teaching methodologies in the field of water for different stakeholders in INOWASIA has been key to the development and success of the proposal. The aim is to establish a collaboration framework with our partners from Vietnam (VNU, CTU), Laos (NUOL, SU), Cambodia (NUBB, ITC), Spain (FSUB, Wus Med) and France (UT3, IRD), as well as with the members of our Academic and Professional Committee.

INOWASIA is an Erasmus + Capacity Building Higher Education project that promotes a joint action of 11 organisations across 5 countries (Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, France and Spain) to train a new generation of water professionals in Southeast Asia. More info
